Ariana Grande is no stranger to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon; in her latest appearance on last nights show, her, Jimmy Fallon, and the show’s band The Roots performed her latest song (possibly preluding her and Mac Miller’s breakup last week?) “No Tears Left To Cry.”
They had posted a teaser for the performance on Monday before the show…
Incase (like us) you’re wondering what the heck they’re using as instruments…
They’re using the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit and Robot Kit.
They’re quite literally handmade cardboard “toys” that you can physically play either games or instruments on. Read more about the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit and Robot Kit from Nintendo here.
On the topic of Nintendo, Fallon told IGN, “I just love them. They’re so fun and creative, and they’re always thinking of another way to use video games, and a different way to experience Game Play — which they did with the 3DS. They just always have fun ideas, and so when Labo came out, I said, ‘we’ve got to do something with that.’ So we did!”

Jimmy Fallon says, “It was totally bizarre and such a gamble. I didn’t know if it was going to sound good, but Ariana is always down to try something fun and different. Anyone can do what we did really, it just takes time. Whatever you dream of, you can make it.”
IGN claims this is “the most talented cardboard superband the world has ever seen.” And we would have to agree. What do YOU think? VOTE below! ❖
