LAOnAir

The show LAOnAir began in September of 2014 at a college radio station inside of Salisbury University with the call letters of WXSU-LP Salisbury. In early 2015, former Program Director of WOCQ-FM, Albie Dee, noticed Michael Levay (LA) and brought him on to do Saturday nights on the station. He then moved LA to weeknights when he saw the level that he was performing at. This was when the show was then picked up by WOCQ-FM, which has held home to LA and his CHR version of the show LAOnAir since. When LAOnAir first debuted, it had a 44 share. After the show’s initial market shock, LA’s show continued to grow and has captured steady ratings, currently holding a 14.8 (Nielsen Spring ’17 – Women 18-34). In spring of 2017, an EDM/Dance format of the show began being distributed to Pulse 87 New York to be aired during weekend mid-days, then in August 2017 morning drive, 6am-9am/EST. In January 2018, LA’s EDM version of the show can also now be heard in Los Angeles on 97.1 AMP Radio KAMP-FM HD-2, during morning drive 6am-9am/PST.

Company

Michael Levay founded what was LA Kingston Productions in 2014, creating videos and producing both TV shows and videos for Salisbury University. That led to audio production, radio imaging, programming, and now On Air hosting. Once he started distributing his show LAOnAir to different markets, he changed the name to LA Kingston Creative in 2016. That has since evolved into LAOnAir Creative to better match his On Air persona. In 2016, LAOnAir’s creator and host LA (Michael Levay) was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for his work in journalism ethics.

LA is the founder of Rhythm Club USA™, a youth music group creating experiences like no other in the performance arts for youth that need an outlet from their home, a ray of light, and spark of hope, and someone to believe in them. Rhythm Club USA is in whole funded by The Kingston Foundation™, a non-profit organization founded by LA in 2015 to help give back to the community.
